Briggs and Stratton is the world’s largest producer of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment, including power generators, lawn and garden, turf care and jobsite products. Briggs & Stratton products are designed, manufactured, marketed and serviced in over 100 countries on six continents. Briggs uses the Siemens PLM to integrate their data, procedures, business systems, and content contributors across a global enterprise platform. Siemens PLM Software is a high-performance content management solution and provides a powerful collaboration platform for the creation of technical documentation and engine service manuals.
As a global engine manufacturer, Briggs and Stratton is faced with the challenge to localize their content for the many regions around the world where they are located. Not only does the company need to produce aesthetically pleasing PDF output, it also must recreate these documents in a variety of languages. The layout of each document must be designed specifically for each language, including German, French, and Arabic. Dakota supported the design of each PDF output, creating a visually appealing document that utilizes page space in the most efficient way possible.
